This ground-breaking series placed a hundred documentary filming crews across the length and breadth of Britain to capture  the work of the  NHS in a single day – from cancer units to bariatric wards, air ambulance to neurosurgery, from the remotest Scottish island to some of the busiest emergency departments.  The result distills a patchwork of human experience ; grief, heroism, relief, joy, frustration, compassion, tedium and selflessness that are evident across Britain’s biggest  institution every single day.
